Carter D. Carroll Excellence in History Awards at College of DuPage 6

College of DuPage hosted keynote speaker Edward Bates as part of the 20th annual Carter D. Carroll Excellence in History Awards ceremony on Monday, April 14.

During his program, Bates discussed "Urban and Rural Agricultural Migrants from Mexico: Ethnic Labor Agencies and Government Programs in the Laredo-San Antonio Corridor, 1915 to 1925," which covered factors that contributed to greatly increased immigration from Northern Mexico in the early 1900s, the effects this influx in population had on the labor market and the subsequent living conditions experienced by immigrant families.
