San Antonio-based Blue Duck Scooters, which rents electric scooters using a mobile app, raised $5 million from a private investor recently.
The company, co-founded by father-and-son team Eric Bell and Paul Bell, rolled out its scooters in San Antonio several months ago and previously raised $18 million from investors based on a $75 million valuation.
The startup has nearly 50 employees and plans to hire about 500 more.
