Bloomberg gives San Antonio $2.5M for green initiatives

San Antonio on Friday was named one of five cities to receive up to $2.5 million in aid from former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg geared toward implementing climate change policies in the city.

Bloomberg stood side by side Friday with San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg to announce the partnership. Nirenberg said Bloomberg Philanthropies’ has agreed to pay for two of its employees to provide technical and scientific support to help implement some of the city’s climate action initiatives.
